What to consider before registering a Domain Name?

The main considerations before selecting a Domain Name include:

Where to buy a .co.nz or a .com Domain Name?

The primary consideration as to whether or not to buy a .co.nz domain name as opposed to a .com domain name (or any other country specific domain name), should be your target market for your product or service.

It is because of the sheer number of domain names and websites that are out there on the Internet, that the main Search Engines are now providing search results that are based upon geographical location (it's called Geotargetting).

If you are targetting the New Zealand market, we reccommend either using a .co.nz domain name. If it is your intention to buy a selection of country specific domain names with the intention of providing exactly the same website on each of those domain names, an issue of which you should be particularly careful is that of Duplicate Content, for which you can now be severely penalised for in your ranking on specific Search Engines.
